The Melbourne
Gospel Choir is Australia's most sought after gospel
group for TV appearances and backing vocals for international
artists.
They regularly appear on many TV shows such as the AFL Grand
Final, Dancing With the Stars, The Logies, It Takes Two,
Starstruck, Good Friday Appeal, and previously on Hey Hey
It's Saturday and In Melbourne Tonight.
The Melbourne Gospel Choir has backed such artists as Delta
Goodrem, Westlife, Guy Sebastian, UK star James Morrison,
Marina Prior, Marcia Hines, Natalie Basingthwaite, Reba
McIntyre, Nana Mousokuri, Jon Stevens, Dame Edna, Vanessa
Amorosi, Silvie Paladino and David Campbell, to name a few.
The Melbourne Gospel Choir released its first Album a number
of years ago, a very classy Christmas album called “Our
Christmas Prayer”, featuring Australia’s leading
lady Miss Marina Prior and renowned Gospel artist Roma Waterman,
and they have recently added their heavenly vocal touch
to 8 tracks on Marcia Hines latest CD “Life”.
The Melbourne Gospel Choir actually comprises of about 10
to 15 very talented members in their own right, including
numerous TV performers, theatre stars, and well known professional
singers from around Melbourne, and they combine to make
up this fantastic group.
Having performed with many different stars for the last
6 years on Channel Nine's national TV event, Carols by Candlelight,
in 2006 The Melbourne Gospel Choir actually performed as
a feature act, singing their version of Joyful Joyful to
great acclaim.
With new Album "Freedom" out soon, it is easy
to see why the Melbourne Gospel Choir is one of Australia's
most loved gospel groups.
